RRC Eastern Railway Apprentice Online Form 2025–Selection Criteria
- Merit List Preparation
- An overall combined score is calculated by averaging your 10th marks and your ITI trade marks, each carrying 50% weightage.
- For example: 10th = 80.58%, ITI = 91.68% → Average = (80.58 + 91.68) / 2 = 86.13%
- Trade‑ and Unit‑Wise Ranking
- Separate merit lists are created for each trade, and further divided by unit (e.g., Howrah, Sealdah) and by category (General, OBC, SC/ST, etc.)
- Shortlisting for Document Verification (DV)
- Candidates are shortlisted 1.5 times the number of vacancies—so if there are 100 vacancies in a trade/unit/category, the top 150 in that merit list are called for DV
- Tie-Breaking Rules
- If two candidates have the same average score, preference is given to:
- Older candidate, and if still tied,
- The one who passed 10th board earlier
- If two candidates have the same average score, preference is given to:
- Document Verification & Medical Fitness
- Shortlisted candidates must submit original documents (10th mark sheet, ITI certificate, caste/PwBD certificate if applicable).
- Subsequently, they must undergo a medical exam to confirm fitness for apprenticeship
- Final Allotment
